No insult intended, but...desirable writing styles must be very different in other academic disciplines. Of the adjectives I would have used for that post, "graceful" would not be in the top 100. (I confess I had a MEGO moment and bailed at the 10th paragraph.)
Come to think of it...that might make an interesting blog post/discussion. Are there certain writing styles that are confined to particular academic disciplines? Is this a good thing, or does it impair our ability to work cross-discipline (and talk to non-academics)?
