Once More Into the Blog

A few highlights from the holiday break:

Comments:
Welcome back, DD--your comments regarding Alvin & the Chipmunks are to the point. Our girl has insisted on seeing it twice. Happily, she also wants to see The Water Horse again--and this one is a movie fit for kids (maybe TB, maybe not TG...it's a bit scary) and parents, too.

Our New year's eve was even tamer than yours--daughter, dogs, spouse and self curled up eating popcorn and watching Astaire/Rogers movies.
Ah, tranquility! and a good new year to you.

Oh, so much of this post resonated with me -- the last bullet especially!! Yay for self-actualization!!

We too had a lego-y Christmas, and I too was pleasantly surprised by Tristan's stick-to-it-ive-ness in building some of the smaller creations. It was my husband who tackled the big Naboo Space Cruiser set, though, and I tried hard not to snicker at the look on his face when Tristan announced yesterday that he had disassembled the ship to a block (after it took Beloved the best part of Christmas morning to assemble) because he needed one of the pieces for a ship of his own creation.

And we opted for "Enchanted" over "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Nine months pregnant and cranky apparently carries more sway than the combined lobbying efforts of two preschoolers and their father!

Happy new year!!

Welcome back, and happy new year!

Our 4 year old says aminal as well. She also says puter instead of computer. My mother keeps trying to fix the way she says them and it makes me sad. I figure she'll outgrow it soon enough and I don't want to rush it.

Lego is but the beginning http://mindstorms.lego.com/ take a look at where your wallet will park.

OTOH, I have seen kids do the slide bowl, they are a lot closer to the ground than adults.
